Stories from those who serve.
Meet Patrick.
Constable Patrick Hannas has over two decades of service with the Edmonton Police Service. He has worked in South Division Patrol, Whyte Avenue Beats, Spousal Violence, Child Protection, School Resource Officer Unit, and Source Management/Crime Stoppers.
“The most rewarding area for me was being a constable in the School Resource Officer Unit. The relationship building and community policing dynamics are second to none compared to the other areas that I have had the pleasure to work in. My background as a former teacher also enhanced the communicative and curriculum dynamics within the school teaching environment.”
When asked about his favourite part of his EPS career, Patrick states “The sky is essentially your limit - how far you want to advance your career and how you wish to serve the community. There are a ridiculous amount of opportunities here”.
Patrick continues, “If you’re thinking of joining our team, you can come to work knowing you’ll make lifelong friends, colleagues and connections with the community – growing your network with unparalleled support. EPS provides the tools you need to investigate, keep yourself, and the communities you serve safe. We truly have to believe in, work for and take care of Edmontonians”.
When Patrick isn’t fulfilling his duties with his current unit, he can be found travelling outside of Canada. Having lived in multiple countries, exploring new places is one of his favourite hobbies. He also keeps himself (and maybe others) entertained as well, through acting in various media appearances.
