Stories from those who serve.

Meet Tyson

Constable Tyson Zelisko recently began his policing career in 2020. With nearly 3 years of service, he currently works in Patrol with the Northwest Division.

His current position in patrol offers Tyson the variety he was seeking in a career. “I really love the diversity of the calls we get to attend - any given day can be entirely different, I am never bored and this career keeps me moving”.

When asked what led him to pursue a policing career, he reflects: “Growing up, I remember watching police shows on tv - it looked fascinating. Through high school and graduation, no other career appealed to me. I knew policing was something I wanted to pursue. Today, I can say it’s still true, helping people in a variety of situations has been so rewarding”.

Tyson offers the following advice to new applicants: “when I was going through the process I relied on the recruiting team, asking questions and getting resources to help make the decision. It was eye opening to chat with current EPS officers, get their advice and help guide my career decision”.

When Tyson isn’t responding to calls across Edmonton, he’s travelling and enjoying time outdoors in the Rockies with friends and family.

Any given day can be entirely different,
I am never bored and this career keeps me moving
